Our Camry's didn't win, (not even close), but they were there, learning and getting a good feel for things.

It felt good to be excited watching the race again. I am a fan from the 80's and early 90's. Towards the later 90's the races were pretty much predictable as to who would win....the odds were it would be a chevy, an Earnhardt, a Gordon, or a teammate or a comrade of either.
It got to the point that I didn't even watch the races anymore, but when I would hear who won on the late night or morning news, if it were a Ford, or some no-name, I would say "wow! it must have been a great race!". You could say I am for the underdogs in this, remember the late Alan Kulwicki, racing his "underbird"?
Yes, I hope to see the Toyota guys racing in a "freight-train", the way I would see the Fords doing coming up and smoking those chevys. I still have a soft spot for Ford racing, but you know it not the same anymore. Gone forever are the racing icons of Davey Allison and the before mentioned Alan Kulwicki.
NASCAR indeed needed this new shot in the arm - Toyota - it will bring many new, and old people back in to root and cheer for a more diverse field.
Yes, it IS made in America!

Since announcing a year ago that it would join the Nextel Cup competition, the company has seen a debate escalate in this insular sport over what is considered American-made in today’s global economy. As Toyota drivers are quick to point out, Camrys are built in the United States, the Ford Fusion is produced in Mexico and the Chevy Monte Carlo comes from Canada.
“If you’re going to argue with me about not being American,” Jarrett told reporters this month, “check and see that that TV you’re watching was made in the United States that you’re watching our great races on.”
